This is a perfect workshop for anyone looks for impressive moves with less height!
Pre-requisites: Ability to safely execute a single star & salto

Bio:
Sarah Romanowsky is a versatile aerialist with a dynamic career in the entertainment industry. Her credits include performing above the world-renowned Radio City Rockettes, touring with Cirque du Soleil’s Axel, and making multiple televised appearances such as Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards, Chevy’s Super Bowl commercial, Disney’s Shake It Up & the CW’s Masters of Illusion. She has also brought her artistry to the stage in high-profile Las Vegas productions such as Magic Mike Live, Fantasy, WOW, and the iconic Donn Arden’s Jubilee. As an instructor, Sarah has shared her expertise in aerial arts across the globe, having coached in 13 countries and over 100 studios. She hopes to inspire the next generation of performers with her wealth of experience and passion for the art.
Pathways from Earth to Sky: Spinning Lift Offs & Fluid Dynamics (Silks & Rope) with Zoë Heywood
We all love to fly. To feel weightless and supported by our muscles and apparatus. To flow in pathways and wraps that most cannot wrap their brain around from the floor. But how do we leave the ground to fly so seamlessly?
In this workshop students will learn the technique for Zoë’s favorite spinning lift offs, arabesque, cross-flare, open-flare, as well as some fluid dynamic connections into inverted climbs! Fluid dynamic movement can blend with flow and gentle spin – continuing the pathway rather than breaking its momentum.
Pre-requisites:
Students should be able to invert to straddle throughout class
Complete an inverted same side climb without losing height
Be comfortable with light spinning
Hold a bent arm hold with chin over hands for 10 seconds

Bio:
Zoë Isadora is proud to carry forward the excellence and joy of her family legacy in circus arts. She blends technical precision, intuitive flow and seamless dancing on multiple apparatuses: aerial silks, dance trapeze, aerial hoop, and more! Each sequence she performs is a fluid, expressive conversation with the apparatus that is unmistakably her own. Zoë experienced a unique performance upbringing, growing up on circus backlots, balancing swords on her head dancing with her mother and grandmother, and a lifelong training in both stage craft and behind-the-scenes technicalities. An honor’s graduate of Wellesley College, she has toured around the U.S. with The Wallenda Family Circus, Westchester Circus Arts, Cirque Dreams, Les Farfadais and Airotic Cirque Soirée as well as performed at corporate contracts and cabarets around Europe including Athens, the Azores and Paris. Zoë is also a sought-after coach and creative entrepreneur, with over 15 aerial manuals and choreography decks used by aerialists worldwide.
8-week Performance Workshop - Fall 2026 with Veronica Blair

Join master instructor and professional aerialist, Veronica Blair, for this 8-week workshop where you’ll learn to create your own act to perform in The Hive SF’s Student Showcase.
Dates:
Workshop: Mondays, September 21 - November 9, 7:15-9:45 pm
Dedicated weekend Open Gym: starting Friday, September 25 - November 13, 5:30-7:30 pm
Tech Rehearsal: Saturday, November 14, time TBD
Performance: Sunday, November 15, time TBD
In this workshop, students will learn the theory behind aerial skills, techniques and seamless transitions. Through technique drills and music-driven play, students will explore how to link tricks together, move to music and create their own aerial act with the end goal of performing in The Hive SF student showcase in June.

8 weeks of instruction with Veronica Blair
A dedicated Sunday afternoon open gym available for workshop students only.
Free attendance to other open gyms during the week
Opportunity to be a part of a photoshoot in The Hive SF studio
Opportunity to perform in The Hive SF Student Showcase
Students can also attend other open gyms during the week (included in cost). You are strongly encouraged to attend all workshop dates, as well as open gym time to work on your act.
Pre-requisites:
Clean inversions in the air - 3 in a row (bent arms/legs ok)
Stamina to stay up in the air for at least 2-3 minutes
Please submit a 2-3 minute video to hello@thehive-sf.com to apply to be a part of the workshop. Your video should include inversions in the air, getting into various tricks/skills and anything else you'd like to show.
You must be continuously in the air on your apparatus for the entire 2-3 minutes.

Bio:
Veronica Blair is an accomplished aerialist, choreographer, and circus researcher. She is the recipient of the 2021 Gerbode Foundation's Choreographers Award, the 2020 American Circus Educators Award for Innovation, and the Community Impact at the inaugural International Circus Awards for her work on the Uncle Junior Project, a multimedia archive spotlighting People of African descent in American circus.
Under the same project, Veronica curated a live exhibition titled "Entrapment to Entertainment: A Celebration of Black People in American Circus" in 2013. Her impactful work has earned her invitations to speak at the Smithsonian, San Francisco International Arts Festival, and facilitate panel discussions engaging conversations about institutional barriers, individual biases, and abuse prevention in the circus industry as part of the Circus and Changing Realities series in partnership with CircusTalk.com.
